Residents are reminded that the use of fireworks as outlined in Highspire Borough Ordinance 627 of 2020 is regulated. The issuance of a permit from the Borough is necessary to use any fireworks as defined in the ordinance (to wit; firecrackers, M-80s, bottle rockets, roman candles, mortars or anything which explodes, makes a report, or flies). Items not requiring a permit which are permissible are smoke bombs, snakes and sparklers. A copy of the ordinance has been attached for those who have questions concerning what, and what not is regulated.

NOW AVAILABLE: THE BOROUGH HAS OBTAINED FROM REPUBLIC SERVICES, ORANGE STICKERS, THAT MAY BE PURCHASED WHEN YOU HAVE EXTRA TRASH TO BE TAKEN. THE ORANGE STICKERS MAY ONLY BE PLACED ON TRASH BAGS AND EACH BAG MAY NOT EXCEED THIRTY-TWO (32) GALLONS, OR WEIGH MORE THAN FIFTY (50) POUNDS. EACH ORANGE STICKER WILL COST $12.00 AND MAY BE PURCHASED AT THE BOROUGH OFFICE WITH CHECK, CASH OR MONEY ORDER ONLY. PLEASE CONTACT THE BOROUGH OFFICE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. THANK-YOU. TRASH/RECYCLE ITEMS NOT IN THE PROVIDED TOTERS OR TRASH NOT IN AN ORANGE STICKERED BAG, WILL NOT BE TAKEN BY REPUBLIC SERVICES. ONLY ONE (1) FREE BULK ITEM IS ALLOWED PER WEEK AND PICK-UP MUST BE PREVIOUSLY ARRANGED WITH REPUBLIC SERVICES IN ADVANCE OF THE PICK-UP. UNLESS YOU HAVE HAD A MISSED PICK-UP, ANY ITEMS LEFT CURBSIDE/STREETSIDE, MAY INCUR A CODES VIOLATION NOTICE.
