LISTENING TOUR ACROSS THE 15TH SENATORIAL DISTRICT

My staff and I have started 2025 on a listening tour visiting each of the 20 municipalities and 7 school districts. We’ve learned a lot through conversations with council members, commissioners, and borough and township managers. We are serious about serving Senate District 15 and these visits will help inform our work and prepare us to best serve our constituents.

BUDGET ADDRESS

Last Tuesday, Governor Shapiro delivered the third budget address of his term, laying out a proposal that makes continued investments in our children and schools, cuts costs for working families, and creates more economic opportunities for all Pennsylvanians.

There is a lot to like in this budget, and there are also areas where I am going to keep pushing for Pennsylvania to do better. I wanted to share some of the highlights:

  • Property Tax Relief! Increased funding to increase the Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion saving the average homeowner an additional $208 in tax savings.
  • Investment in childcare workforce and retention programs so families have adequate options for quality childcare.
  • Supporting our seniors by investing in new Long Term Care Facilities funding

DOES THE STATE OWE YOU MONEY?

1 in 10 Pennsylvanians has unclaimed property, and the average claim is about $1,600! To see if you have unclaimed property; you can search on the Treasury website.

2025 PROPERTY TAX/RENT REBATE APPLICATION PERIOD NOW OPEN

The 2025 Property Tax/Rent Rebate Application Period is now open and accepting application for rebates on property taxes or rent paid in 2024: Find out more here.

Thanks to program changes made in 2023, more people are eligible, with income limits adjusted to keep pace with Social Security cost-of-living adjustments. The Property Tax/Rent Rebate program has made it easier for seniors in Chester County to stay in their homes and afford groceries, medicine, and so much more.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians ages 65 and older, widows and widowers ages 50 and older, and people with disabilities age 18 and older.

Please call my office to find out if you’re eligible and get assistance applying for your rebate. We’d be glad to answer any questions and set up an appointment to help you complete your application online.  For those who prefer to file by mail, paper applications will be available in my office soon, and we will update here when they come in.
